Abstract:
In this paper, the pullout tests of polyester geogrid and uniaxial geogrid with medium coarse sand, thick pellet soils, and eluvial soils under different normal pressures is conducted to investigate the interface interaction characteristics between the geogrid and soils. The result indicates that the pullout and friction coefficients of uniaxial geogrid are smaller than those of polyester geogrid, and also shows that the interface friction coefficient increases as soil particle diameter increases. Furthermore, combined with finite element analysis, and its simulation results are compared with the experiment results. In addition, this paper studies some factors influencing the interface properties such as normal pressure, reinforced length, soil modulus, geogrid axial stiffness and interface reduction factor. Finally, the regularity of distribution of the shear stress and axial force under different pull force are investigated.
