Abstract:This paper introduces a project of a 53 m-high brick chimney demolished in the way of directional blasting in the complicated environment with many buildings nearby. According to the chimney characteristics and surrounding environment, the blasting scheme is chosen by careful analysis and calculation, including the blasting cut, collapse direction and blasting network. Selecting the directional windows to guarantee the accuracy of collapse and the reasonable demolition parameters, pretreatment and protective measures are taken to ensure the success. Finally, we get the perfect blasting effect, and it can provide reference for similar demolition projects.
